Honestly a painfully naive article that should be from 5+ years ago. It offers a brief tour through a biased view of the history of wealth, an affirmation of the core function of currency (wow, $1 = $1), citation of censorious and oppressive governments, a handwave for illegal activity and excuses for extreme volatility. Really nothing new offered here, just the same tired hype points.
Meanwhile, no comment on the financial shell games (3AC, Celsius, etc.), the lack of regulation protecting individuals from institutional investors and whales who are free to collude as they please thus making the space predatory, the lack of consistency where coin/service governance groups routinely seize or manipulate money to their advantage, or the fact that institutional investors dominate individuals in holdings, exposing crypto to market effects from traditional currencies, or anything else.
