This is familiar to me. I've known people so like this and once an idea gets into their head it would take dynamite to shift. To them it is right at an emotional level and facts will be ignored when presented. It's right, so they bulldoze on getting angrier and more resentful as the facts build up. I'm starting to finally[1] learn just to give up when I see this as trying to change such minds becomes a self-damaging time sink. [1] yes, finally. Taken me a long time. Perhaps there's a touch of them in me, I do wonder sometimes.
