IKEA Canada confirms data breach
- ziddoap 4y ago“At IKEA the security of our customers’ private information is of utmost importance [...] It'd be nice if the companies slurping up and indefinitely storing numerous data points about the intricacies of my shopping/web-browsing/whatever habits stopped telling me they care about my privacy. As a silver lining, at least in this case the only data they are reporting as leaked is the same data that has been leaked about 78 other times by other companies that also really care about my privacy (name, email, phone, postal). Yay.
- akomtu 4y agoA data breach simply means that in addition to that hundred of data brokers that ikea has contracts with, there will be another hundred that gets the same data for free.
- jasonladuke0311 4y agoYup, this is why I didn’t buy their dresser that required “registration” and a waiver. EDIT: not from Canada, just in general
- ilrwbwrkhv 4y agoClassic Canadian mediocrity raises its head again.
