Good analogy and there are a lot of great points mentioned in sibling threads. There are so (so) many "quality" software projects out there which aren't tirelessly promoted, though (e.g. npm dependencies). There is potentially a (strong) bias towards "extroversion" in the "Western world|US" but I somewhat think it's just "our perception" that this is optimized for in organizations/individuals. This is fuzzy and there are a lot of counter arguments. When it comes to "marketing" and "building a product" it seems, ideally, they pair with synergy.
