In VA hospitals it was not uncommon to give a patient N beers per day to match their typical consumption to avoid them going into alcohol withdrawal during their stay.
- adamauckland 4y agoI don't know what VA is but in the UK they will attempt to maintain any addictions so the withdrawal does not affect the patient. For example, if you're a smoker I guess they give you nicotine patches or something.
