  My perception (which I would like to correct) is that such trends are mostly isolated to the US and not prevalent in Europe. Ex. over-prescribing based on some recent finding, new diet, new exercise trend, new [insert habit/lifestyle]. Is that the case? I think I assume that it is not "as" intense and people are relatively more in-tune with their bodies. All these behaviors seem to me to be tied with the height we assign to science to tell us how to live our lives.
