Do you have some data to back this up or is it just your experience? Because I've recently hired 4 people without specifying ranges in either of the job posts and I didn't feel like I had any issue with it. 3/4 job ads got over 100 applicants and the 4th got like 70. All jobs in tech. I feel like your assumption that companies don't find people might be wrong.
