Methylene Blue is in phase 3 trials with Taurx[1] The patented version will be slightly tweaked version of the century old drug so they can make some money on it. Still, it would be one for the ages that an out of patent cheap drug makes decades and billions of research obsolete. They say it clears tau, but it probably works some other way like being an antimicrobial that can cross the blood brain barrier.
A doctor I know takes Kordon methylene blue which is pennies a dose.

- pengaru 4y ago> A Phase 3 clinical trial of LMTM (TauRx0237 or LMT-X), a derivative of methylene blue, failed to show any benefit against cognitive or functional decline in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Disease progression for both the drug and the placebo were practically identical. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylene_blue#Alzheimer's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylene_blue#Alzheimer's
- narrator 4y agoThe cite for that was from 2016. The latest study has yet to publish results. https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03446001?term=TRX0237 https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03446001?term=TRX0237
- pengaru 4y agoYou act as if the cited article was simply about an honest presentation of negative results. When in fact it illustrates a similar kind of dishonesty and manipulation as TFA being discussed in this thread. I don't see why we should have any amount of optimism in this direction based on the evidence in front of us. Do you hold stock in TauRx or its affiliates? https://www.alzforum.org/news/conference-coverage/first-phase-3-trial-tau-drug-lmtm-did-not-work-period https://www.alzforum.org/news/conference-coverage/first-phas...
- narrator 4y agoNo I don't hold any stock in Taurx. I've taken quite a bit of methylene blue over the years though.
