I don't really want to work with anyone who has "crafted" a "persona." I want to work with interesting people - and sometimes those people are characters. That's who they are - no work involved. Some of them swear, a lot. If it's natural, I don't really see an issue - and if it's situationally appropriate. A technical talk to a group of developers may not be marred by an f-bomb. A presentation to a customer almost always will be.
