Show HN: I made a website that helps you turn your life into a game and a story
- darrendliang 4y agoplease let me know if you have any questions about gamestory!

- butz 4y agoFor a "game" this needs a better on-boarding solution, a "tutorial" if you will. Instead of forcing new users to watch a video on Youtube, integrate instructions right on the first page. Either add floating popups, or guide new user through first steps with example data. On first visit I actually missed that there is more content on main page below fold. And "import" function probably won't be that important to new user, moving to Settings might be appropriate.
- darrendliang 4y agoYessir, will be working on that
- quickthrower2 4y agoIs this a bucketlist, of sorts?
- darrendliang 4y agoYep, seems like it's pretty confusing, I'll have to improve the design
- davidivadavid 4y agoThe promise sounds great but the product looks very confusing and it seems just like a badly designed to-do list with a lot of accidental complexity. Why the emphasis on colors? Why is the UX so complex to end with something so simple? It's not clear what this is building up to.
- darrendliang 4y agoYeah, gotta simplify the design more, it'd get clearer though
- ArekDymalski 4y agoAfter reading the title description I expected something like a gamiefied diary builder that allows others to explore your past experiences. What could be an interesting and/or weird product to be honest. In case of future experiences, accomplishments and dreams gamification seem to be kind of distracting solution imho.
- darrendliang 4y agoYessir, I'd have to think more about what the product really is
- netsharc 4y agoGeez, sorry to be harsh, but it's so not ready. I clicked "Explore" and it said "Coming soon". So much for "showing" us something.
- darrendliang 4y agoAll good, will be working on it
- _tom_ 4y agoNo idea what's supposed to be going on there. Show your projects to a few people. See what happens, before you post it widely. Make sure it makes sense. And don't give them hints. People won't have hints when following a link from hacker news.
- darrendliang 4y agoYeah I should have done that haha

- HardwareLust 4y agoA short story, and a boring game in my case. =)
