Should’ve left it at that buddy. Nobody needs your opinion on climate change. Especially not after 50 years of climate science only being wrong about how bad it was going to get.

The author is a compiler and making reference to the specified article: > Persistent heat extremes can have severe impacts on ecosystems and societies, including excess mortality, wildfires, and harvest failures. Here we identify Europe as a heatwave hotspot, exhibiting upward trends that are three-to-four times faster compared to the rest of the northern midlatitudes over the past 42 years. This accelerated trend is linked to atmospheric dynamical changes via an increase in the frequency and persistence of double jet stream states over Eurasia. We find that double jet occurrences are particularly important for western European heatwaves, explaining up to 35% of temperature variability. The upward trend in the persistence of double jet events explains almost all of the accelerated heatwave trend in western Europe, and about 30% of it over the extended European region. Those findings provide evidence that in addition to thermodynamical drivers, atmospheric dynamical changes have contributed to the increased rate of European heatwaves, with implications for risk management and potential adaptation strategies Objections can be addressed to Rousi, Kornhuber, Beobide-Arsuaga, Luo and Coumou - but I do not see what could be controversial in the study. Which seems as a framwork consistent with what coincidentally was reported from glaciologist Peter Wadhams (Uni Cambridge) in the past few hours: this heatwave would be the combination of a Sahara-to-Europe stream (hitting mostly west of the Rhine), and of a vortex on the Atlantic. In statements that also shout drastically "Stop carbon emissions now!", "CO₂ lingers for centuries" (etc.) and noting, as a coincidential reprise to the poster, that "climate model predictions have been overly conservative regarding sea ice decline". One thing is heat ("ground" metric), another heatwaves.

- mdp2021 4y ago> Not worth the effort Well, some members deal with completely different matters, have their time drained by job/family etc.: we cannot know everything (I myself have very little foundations on the topic). If we do not share (information), there is little purpose of presence. (Although I fail to understand what exactly the poster was attacking, and on which basis.)
