NASA Climate Spiral [video]
- downboots 4y ago> As you can see, global temperatures have warmed from mainly human activities as time has progressed. No? That may or may not be the case, but that's not what this is. This is a spiraly thing transitioning into redness without a test of how much change is bad or how causality was determined (other than, say, 140 years of sunlight). It needs more of a write-up imo.
- Maursault 4y agoIt's getting hotter. In the the midst of mass extinction likely caused by people, now people are dying because it's getting hotter. It matters why, but not as much as it matters that there are some intelligent reactions to the fact that it's getting hotter, things to help everyone survive and cope, starting with education on everything, like building for passive climate control, but also how to survive by staying indoors when it is 55°C, and idk digging caves for wildlife to shelter? What's left of Earth's diversity is going to shrink, and we're going to lose a lot of beautiful species. Maybe we should just try to excise the carbon from the atmosphere at global scale somehow, just to see if it makes any difference. Why not? It will put people to work, there could be generations of carbon workers if it does work, and if it doesn't we can try something else, like underground cities.
