Alarm as fastest growing US cities risk becoming unlivable from climate crisis
- tamaharbor 4y agoLooking at historical US weather data, the third and fourth weeks of July are typically the hottest of the year.
- nathanaldensr 4y agoThere has been a huge flood of these climate doom porn stories on HN. I just flag and move on. There is hardly any "alarm" and, in general, the style of headlines worded like "Alarm as ___" and "Fears mount as ___" are nothing more than clickbait. Fear porn belongs on Reddit, not HN. You're all being manipulated for nothing more than a bit of ad revenue. Damn, is it that easy?
- Fricken 4y agoIt was eye opening hearing from nurses in covid wards talk about patients who would dent the existence of the disease with their last dying breaths. That's how hard people can deny reality when it scares them.
- rektide 4y agoUnconscionable to me that folks would work to actively suppress what seems like a very real emergence of a well known longstanding set of issues. This isnt fear porn. This is the reality of planet earth & it's inhabitants facing up to what we've done. Put your own neck in the samd if you must but for heavens sake dont actively suppress our awareness. Let voting take it's own way with things.
