Here is a quote from the response from the Copyright Office email before I provided additional information about how they were created: "To be copyrightable, a work must be fixed in a tangible form, must be of human origin, and must contain a minimal degree of creative expression" So some employees there are aware of the impact that AI can have. Getting these DALL-E images copyrighted won't be trivial. I think it will be many years before the law is clarified.
