Well the headline did it's job, it scared the shit out of everyone that bought it. And even when they find out it was bullshit, there will still be a residual state of slightly heightened fear, just a little more on top of what we've been fed for decades.

- pygy_ 4y agoThe real figure, half a decade ago, was a loss of 50% over 70 years which is already very scary when you know that it constitutes 50 to 70% of the photosynthesis capacity of our world, and thus the ability to remove CO2 from the environment. AFAIK, the trend hasn’t changed.
