Doesn't something like 40% of Americans believe in literal creation? As in the earth is 10k years old or something like that? Then the question is what makes it far right: far from our point of view, or far from the normal point of view in the US? Because I strongly suspect that what we consider normal is not the normal and so what we might think of as far right is not that far from the center.
