this is kinda off topic but do anybody know about tiktoks recommendation algo? i've been working on a little algorithmic newsfeed project but wanna improve the recommendation system. im wondering if it's harder to get the same quality data as with short video, but still curious to know how they got recommendations that much better. is it just more/better data into the algo, like with rewatches etc tracked? or actual tech improvement? bc yt shorts and ig reels don't have the same recommendations even with about the same data.
