This is a great site except for the Hayek quote in the end. One of the bad things that happened in 1971 is that people started listening to scumbags like Hayek, instead of economists like Maynard Keynes who genuinely wanted the economy to help everyone and make the entire country richer and more powerful. The post word war economic order was Keynesian. It created the greatest economic boom known to mankind. Then people got greedy and the ideas of the kinds of Hayek got in vogue. Not only did the middle class get screwed but the philosophy of Hayek and the like made it seem like it was completely necessary and cosmically just that the middle class must get screwed.
