Agitated college students and some of their professors get a bit unmoored sometimes, anything can create screaming rage. Mixing gender identity (ok, we don't know their degree of same-sex attraction or whether they wished to live in the other sex's stereotypes) and sex (did they contribute sperm or a womb to procreation, etc) seems rather silly. We learn about how societies treated women and men of different social statuses precisely by noting their sex along with the manner of death that we can infer and the stuff they were buried with if any is found. We have no frigging idea about their mindset, and show me a case when someone has credibly made that leap. We're talking about a handful of people on a planet of billions.
