I don't know if it's cool or not, but it is ungrammatical (LOL); 'good' is an adjective, 'well' is the adverb. And also a state of health. I'm always tempted, when someone answers my "How are you?" with "I'm good", to ask what it is they're good at, or if it's because they go to church every day, help old ladies across the road, etc.
