Why No One Answers Their Phone Anymore (2018)
- theGeatZhopa 4y ago... hello. Is it me you looking for??? Texting is less intruding and less disruptive than calling. Just compare it like: Writing a letter and leave it up to the receiver when to read VS. Ringing the doorbell like "..went crazy" while the other is showering. Calling w/o texting upfront is the unfriendliest way to stay in contact.
- ksaj 4y agoThis is really true. When I was young, people didn't call unless it was important, or they wanted to visit. Sometimes they just wanted to chat, but that was usually about your visits. Now people text, and sometimes email. There are the occasional emergency that warrants a call, but they are rare. Nowadays if the phone rings at all unexpectedly, it's nearly always a spammer or scammer at the other end. Voice calls that aren't from your boss are generally going that way now, too. That's why pagers were so popular back in the day. Great paradigm that lives on through SMS. Send a text. I don't even have my ringer on, unless I'm actually expecting a call.
