I'm not sure that there can be an "oversupply" of any form of art.

  In almost every form there is more supply than demand. Most books don't find publishers or readers. Even self published or given free, people don't care about them. People don't want to watch most paintings. There are plenty of bands trying to get recognized but nobody want's to listen them.
