I've been in a similar same scenario myself lately. I'm in the middle of a project that should have taken a couple of weeks to complete. Instead, it has taken months due to many, many changes being requested during its development, some of which involved scrapping large portions of work multiple times.
Management has both greenlit every requested change, but then also blames me for the project taking so long (it's been in development for so long, so clearly it's the developer's fault. Oh, btw, we're going to need to completely scrap this version of the UI, too, just like we've done a couple of times already).
I frequently feel like I need to "catch up", even though I know that it's not my fault. So I get really conflicted on the evenings and weekends, usually putting in extra hours to squeeze out just a bit more progress. Really, I know better, but I can't help but feeling that after months of this, somehow, this weekend or evening will be the one to finally make the difference.
