If I understand correctly these numbers are a result of users viewing posts uniformly random? While the post is a nice overview of options, I doubt the numbers generalize to the much more realistic scenario of a power-law distribution of view counts for posts.
- hardwaresofton 4y agoI thought of that! I cover it very crudely and the generation code isn’t as nice as I would have liked, but I did try to pick certain numbers of posts that would receive a disproportionate amount of views (and also making sure posts were not generated equally by everyone). I’d love to have some feedback on the attached repo!
