Lawmakers want federal regulators to track crypto mining energy use
- pjc50 4y agoProof-of-waste systems are an environmental disaster invention on par with Thomas Midgley's work on CFCs or leaded petrol.
- lambdaba 4y agoMoney printing by central governments especially funding the US war machine is the biggest environmental disaster.
- pjc50 4y agoI've never understood this line of reasoning. Governments can fight wars regardless or not of whether they can print money. In WW2 much of the allied economies were command economies that ran on forced credit.
- LatteLazy 4y agoIf you're serious about the environment, then do something about emissions. Using it as a wedge to attack crypto (or whatever else you don't like) devalues it and actively makes real climate solutions less likely.
