I can’t speak for others, but I have limited, volatile income and subscriptions aren’t a realistic option for me. One-time purchases are much more realistic. I don’t care for subscriptions because they lock out those of us with limited means. Edit: even so, I still have $16/mo in subscriptions on my phone. :-/
