It’s not about the content, it’s about CONTROL.
Control what people can say, share and do.
Obviously GitHub is essential an essential tool for modern day programers, and the CCP only needs to give the access to a version of that tool under the control of the CCP.
- trasz 4y agoIndeed, it’s about control: as it happens the state that controls GitHub is rather aggressive, and so it makes sense to have alternatives.
- coliveira 4y agoThat's the sad thing about Github. It takes something that is decentralized and puts in the hands of a company that is closely associated to the American security apparatus. I agree that China shouldn't trust it, given the current situation.
