Anyone know the NAND chip config for all these devices ? So if 256 is two 128 on the M1 Air, does that mean 512 is 4x128 or 2x256 ? Etc..

- goosedragons 4y agoThe 512 is 2x256. I'm pretty sure the Air line only has two spots for NAND flash.
- soneil 4y agoThat's the issue - two spots, but instead of maintaining a 128GB part for 2x128, they're shipping 256 as 1x256. I can see the logic, they're not maintaining a whole part/inventory just for the lowest config. I'll let everyone else argue over whether it's worth the penalty or not.
