IMO, the FCC should:
1. make payments to local governments in exchange for monopoly access, illegal.
2. strike down laws that prohibit local governments from providing internet service.
3. stop forcing these speed minimums that also come with price minimums not everyone wants.
- amalcon 4y agoIt's unlikely that the FCC has the power to do either 1 or 2.
- Wohlf 4y agoThe FCC doesn't have the power to do this, and these are likely unconstitutional.
- sofixa 4y ago> these are likely unconstitutional. If these are considered to be the correct way forward, the constitution needs to be amended then. When it was written Internet didn't really exist, so it would make sense there aren't many provisions covering it.
