I like HN continues to cheer these authoritarian government mandates when there is no proof of any harm to the consumers.
You know why Europe can't produce a Google or an Apple or a TikTok or Intel or AMD or NVidia despite having a Billion People?
It is the same draconian regulations that thwart innovations.
- heywoodlh 4y agoThis is a really interesting perspective and useful for me as I often default into the "Google is evil" camp and often don't check myself on re-evaluating the cons to a decision like this. Looking at it while attempting to reduce my bias this does seem Draconian and there aren't many suitable alternatives like Chromebooks.
