VinFast is likely a scam or a play to swindle investor money. I'm totally surprised by a US state giving free money to a Vietnamese company. I thought it was just tax incentives. But it seems like they're actually giving them cash.
VinFast is part of Vingroup. It's a conglomerate that has close ties to the Vietnamese government. They've failed in every business except real estate. For example, they tried to make a smart phone, supermarkets, convenient stores, hospitals, schools. All have either failed or outcompeted by other companies.
They succeed in real estate because the Vietnamese government give them cheap land grants.
Everyone in Vietnam knows Vinfast gas cars are bad. No one buys them. They force their employees to buy their gas cars. When someone in Vietnam publishes something negative about their cars, they threaten them.
Their work culture is incredibly bad. Like work culture from the 1950s.
So why does VinFast want to expand to the U.S. market when they can't even sell cars in their home market? Because they've been touting a $60 billion VinFast IPO to boost Vingroup's stock in Vietnam. It's basically a stealth way to make unsophisticated investors buy Vingroup stocks.
It'll never happen. They make zero electric cars. They have no proprietary tech. No strong talent. No advantage.
