Unfortunately the current round of vaccines show limited effectiveness at both preventing an infected person from passing Omicron on and from becoming infected by it after a brief period of time. Even the benefits of a booster are negligible a few weeks after application. Your reasons to get vaccinated while noble, unfortunately don't stand up to Omicron. One would have to get vaccinated every 2 - 3 months or so to retain a high percentage of protection. Something I am not willing to require of my family. It's similar to masks, perhaps they have limited effectiveness but the tradeoff of limiting my kids development and just the sheer inconvenience of wearing them is not worth it to me. If a store requires it I have no issues complying with out complaining as it's a quick in and out. Overall though I'm done with them and have not had to wear a mask except in a surgeons office for over a year.
