Author here. I feel developer tooling is getting a lot better, especially for newer programming languages. It's a slow process but hugely impactful. The Stack Overflow developer survey seems to show languages like Rust and Go at the top of the preference list, and I think this tooling improvement is a factor in why they are loved and why C and C++ are dreaded. If you've been programming for a while (a decade or more) what improvements have you seen in tooling?
