The 90s is the most popular decade for music

As far as I can tell, people’s taste in music tend to reflect their adolescence - the point when they break from their youth and associate in large numbers. To be present in modern surveys, you have to be able and willing to use the right device and software. Nobody’s tallying the home or car stereos that are off line… For me the 70’s should be high on the list as it has all of the music that came out of the 60’s along with Prog, Disco, Punk, Technopop, Metal, …

It may be that music during one's adolescence is favored, but that there are some common trends by decade nonetheless — maybe everyone likes the music from my adolescence disproportionately, for example. I imagine this might be out there but in a quick search I couldn't find it. For me, good music ebbs and flows. It's constantly coming, in some sort of stochastic process. I'm not sure I have a favorite decade. There's also the problem that as time goes on, people are exposed to an increasing selected sample of music that's not reflective of actual music at the time.
