Netflix is partnering with Microsoft for its new ad-supported tier
- PaulHoule 4y agoIsn’t Microsoft famous for how little they make on search advertising compared to Google? Seems to me partnering with them will let you tell the media you are running ads but it won’t make you any money.
- nigerian1981 4y agoIsn’t that because of the much higher volume of searches on Google? If companies want to advertise on Netflix they’ll have to use the new platform
- alberth 4y agoMicrosoft isn’t a competitor to Netflix. Google, buy owning YouTube, is a competitor.
- rastignack 4y agoHow tasteful of them. I’m pretty sure an increase of the premium offer will follow shortly. I’m so tired of those ad-ridden customer-spying services which are becoming the norm. It’s nefarious on so many levels. I wish some fsf inspired NGO existed, to fight them vigorously everywhere in the world.

- conradludgate 4y agoWe pay for Netflix though. Besides, they keep greenlighting content we didn't ask for

- SilverBirch 4y agoThis is really good for MSFT, I wonder if at some point Netflix could be an acquisition target for them.
