I’m not sure why a persons wealth should cause me to automatically rule out their morals, message or wisdom. Regardless of wether or not one agrees with the message.
The inverse of that would be saying “this person is penniless, it grates me to listen to their opinion on other poor people.”
- jlee4219 4y agoYou're arguing against something different than what you replied to – it's not necessarily that their wealth rules out their morals, message, or wisdom, it's that their wealth rules out their ability to frame themselves as not part of the "elite."
- sn0w_crash 4y agoHis comments are about an outspoken sect of political and self proclaimed intellectual “elites” who have a particular opinion on population he disagrees with I’m not sure why I should assume Marc is automatically part of this group. Because he is in the same tax bracket? Again, for me this would be like hearing a person of lower income describe the opinion of a group within their own economic status - say, a religious sect - whom they disagree with, and immediately downplaying it because they’re both poor. I can’t lump all rich people in the same bunch, sorry.
