I much prefer RTT games to play competitively, be it the Wargame series or, my personal favorite of all time, World In Conflict. Minus the base building and production minding, you can actually focus on the combat (and still have a platoon of tanks wiped off the map in a flurry of ATGMs when you glance away for a second) and map control, positioning, etc. I really only play RTS games solo, or co-op comp stomps.
