Travel the world from home with Amazon Explore
- politelemon 4y agoDort of interesting. It's a 1-on-1 paid livestream service, not just traveling it's also shopping and cooking and language and other lessons too. So I suppose Amazon is banking on connecting people who can provide this service — of which there will be many — with people who want to pay for such a service. It feels like quite a specific, niche set of use cases. For example to learn how to cook something, there are many YouTube channels that provide the same for free. Similarly with language and other lessons. The shopping example is the strangest to me. You have to pay for a livestream with a person who then shows you around in their shop, after which you can pay more to buy the item you want. Online shopping exists, and for those who want physical presence, you need physical presence. There would have to be a very specific niche set of luxury items that would benefit from such a service. It might be my limited imagination, I just can't see this becoming big, but it might be a low-overhead enough that it sustains itself. Or it's all just going to turn into jumping off points for porn.
