I think the personal tier is now free to everyone, not just beta testers. I think the slowness issues got fixed a while back - there was a point where they were releasing new features weekly, and then basically nothing happened for 6 months, and then the next few releases fixed a lot of 'under the hood' stuff with performance and search and so on. Still a great tool, I moved away from it for personal reasons, but I very much like it still.
