EDIT: I grabbed a few screenshots from Google Earth to show examples of rock structures found around Khaybar, Saudi Arabia. [3] It looks like the article is correct in that there are many ancient rock structures around Khaybar. I didn't find any of the ones from the articles above but it is apparent that the local people built these from rock that was within a few meters of the structure since you can easily see on many of them that the immediate vicinity is free of rock.
