I just booted a Gentoo rescue CD from the early 2000s and it didn’t have perl. It pretty much only had busybox and nano.
- x86x87 4y agohaha. fair. if you're going to use a specialized linux distro or use linux for a very targeted purpose (ie rescue CD) you might get away without perl. short of that it's in every mainstream distribution.
