When I was a tween we went swimming at a rock quarry. I found a petrified piece of a fish. Basically as if it's head and tail were cut off, but the body and the gills were really clear, as was the pattern of the scales, and where the spine entered and exited. Since they tend to be crushed at the quarry, it's probably not what you want. But I at least found that one that I kept for a number of years.
