That was anecdotal evidence of what I thought was the pretty clear and relevant point that casual gaming, from Bejeweled to Farmville to Angry Birds, is bringing video games to a host of people who previously refused to touch a controller. These people may easily outnumber what you refer to as the "gaming community" and, for them, Jobs was the face of the device they play on most of the time. In short, the article sounds as though it was written by someone living under a rock and/or refusing to acknowledge the revolution afoot. Given how everyone seemed to be focused on comparing video game industry legends to one another, I thought it was a point worth making. Judging by the downvotes, though, guess not. Oh well.
