Experience: I lost my sight overnight

  That's quite a story! What a bummer about losing sight like that, but so glad he found happiness and purpose again!

  I lost my right eye vision partly due to retinal damage via choroiditis which happened so quickly (matter of days) that it left me devastated. I have blind spots covering most of my visual field, which fortunately gets compensated to some extent by the good eye. When I read about how his life felt purposeless & probably suicidal, I could commiserate. I felt the same & my wife and I had frank conversation to discuss options if I ever became totally blind. We take our eyesight so much for granted that we don't realize how much it impacts us when we lose it partially / wholely

    Id rather lose one eye than one leg, but I'd rather lose both legs than both eyes.
