Denial doesn’t keep any of us safe!
Annecdata: having successfully avoid COVID for 2.5 years and been pretty careful (incl 2 vaccination + 2 boosters) my wife and I still managed to catch it a few weeks ago and infected my parents (after 1 visit). However 5,000 miles away my friend, my sister in-law, and husband all caught it. While this isn't a statistic, it is a remarkable coincidence that all of the mentioned people caught COVID for the first time, approximately at the same time. It certainly seems remarkably contagious and I have to think that I caught BA.5.
