Abe had a good handle of the geopolitical situation facing Japan and the region and he used his administration to place Japan in a better position to survive the challenges that could come from potential adversaries. Economically his policies did not fully restore Japan's economy but they did put Japan back on track to prosperity after decades of stagnation. They still face tremendous demographic challenges due to birth rates below replacement so they will need to seriously consider immigration law modifications to support their economic growth opportunities by making it easier for foreign laborers to live and work in Japan. They have made some changes but there is more work to do while at the same time they need to enact policies that encourage young Japanese to have multiple children.
