Twitter Lays Off Third of Talent Team
- Jyaif 4y agoSimpler title: Twitter lays off 1/3 of their recruiters.
- gnicholas 4y agoThe headline now (at least for me) says a "Third of Recruiting Team", which is clearer than "Talent Team" IMO.
- 202206241203 4y agoThe "Did They Graduate MIT And Invert A Tree On Blackboard" team.
- Railsify 4y agoMy first thought was similar. Although those questions are appropriate for teams that work on search problems that are deeper than: "just query postgres".
- netsharc 4y agoHah, poor recruiters, I hadn't thought of this, when hiring slows down, of course you don't need that team of people you're employing to... find people to hire.
- AnotherGoodName 4y agoIt's fair to say the overall outlook is bleak right? People who are in positions to know more than you or i about the future of the economy are setting up to survive a long economic winter. Even currently profitable companies like Facebook are cutting hiring, costs and setting up the defences for the coming storm. I see a lot of talk along the lines of "we're at the bottom now" from lay people. Yet if you can read through the actions of businesses leaders who are in a better position it's pretty clear that this is going to be much longer term.
