If they like toilet paper money and want to speed up their extinction, that's exactly the play, you are right!
"Fail fast, fail often" is the quote they use to make sure they renew their VC funding as often and as fast as possible, and make you burn your money for their own profit, it's a trap, what happens to the people who fail, nobody gives a shit, the entrepreneur is a resource we have to burn
> Seems the US is so great at internet companies because the Data Protection Directive, "instituted highly restrictive policies governing online data collection and use" prevented innovation in Europe.
Hell no, the EU had everything, but the US wanted everything for them instead, so they killed everything that's coming from EU (and asia btw, and they don't even have any of the data protection laws btw) and they push theirs
How come they get customers then, easy when you can lobby and https://www.theregister.com/2022/03/25/microsoft_accused_of_corrupt_business/ https://www.theregister.com/2022/03/25/microsoft_accused_of_...
You joke about EU's bureaucracy, but nobody points US's bureaucracy and their army of lawyers and toilet paper printers
- eesmith 4y agoYes, the authors of this LinkedIn piece appear to like toilet paper money. > "You joke about EU's bureaucracy" No, I point out connections to previous pronouncements on this topic. My goal was to highlight 1) the link title is editorializing, 2) that if true it's been true for decades and thus the LinkedIn piece shouldn't change one's existing world-view. As for me personally, well, I'll be more explicit. My previous comment ended " ... but American children may end up being more free to explore new things." I originally avoided adding "like being shot at while the police do nothing". I could add more. These appear to be the sorts of just-so stories that make rich Americans happy. Which is what you want to promote to get money from rich Americans.
