I think this is a great feature and a huge step in the right direction. However, will this comply with the new EU Digital Markets Act (DMA), which provides a general interoperability for messaging apps (for big players, with Apple and iMessage being certainly one of them)? Certainly, foreign services – or at least parts of their features and APIs – had to be disabled in lock-down mode. (Will it help to any degree that Apple is drastically limiting their own service?)
