Gen Z candidates are running for Congress – and running against compromise

The trick is not losing the "centrist" wing. In the GOP case, their centrists seem pretty much fine with it. It's not clear whether the same will hold for Democrats, who have spent a ton of effort trying to appeal to the center, with mixed results at best. There is a very good chance that the Democrats will be annihilated in November. It is true that people who don't compromise don't pass much legislation. Republicans accomplished very little, but that was mostly OK because their agenda is more focused on the status quo. They achieve their primary goals by controlling the Supreme Court, and they've locked that in. Changing the status quo requires compromise, even if elected. So they may not last long even if they win this November.
